Collaborative Crystallisation Centre home page help

What is the Collaborative Crystallisation Centre (C3) system?

The CSIRO C3 system is used to manage the activities that are necessary for the execution of protein crystallisation experiments using the Rigaku CrystalMation™ Protein Crystal Growth system. These activities include:

Once a crystallisation experiment has been completed, its status will be displayed in the C3 system. However, to review the detailed results of an experiment such as images of the crystallised proteins, you will need to login to the CrystalTrak™ system using the CrystalTrak™ client software.

What you can do here:

Function Description
"Contact us" Displays details for getting in contact with us by telephone, fax, e-mail, mail or post.
"User help" Displays this help page.
"User login" If you are already a registered user of the C3 system, you can select "User login" to open up a page where you can enter your e-mail address and password to log on to the system. If you are not already a registered user of the C3 system, you will be able to create a new request to become a user.
"New user registration" Selecting "New user registration" opens a new page where you will be able to enter the details necessary to request access to the C3 system. These details will include your name, contact, phone number and address and the name of the research group to which you belong. Your access request will be processed by the staff at the C3 facility as well as an authorisation contact at your group.
"Login" If you already are a registered user of the C3 system, once you've entered your e-mail address and password selecting the "Login" action logs you on to the system. NOTE: when you login for the very first time, after entering your e-mail address and password you will be prompted to enter and confirm a new password for the login to the system to be a completed. The next time you log on to the system you will need to use this new password.
"Cancel" Selecting cancel will return you to the C3 homepage.
"Recover lost password" If you're already a registered user of the C3 system, but you have forgotten your password to log in to the system, selecting the "Recover lost password" action will generate a request for a new password to be created for you. You will be contacted by telephone at the number that you provided when you originally registered for access to the system and provided with new password details.
"Legal notice and disclaimer" Selecting "Legal notice and disclaimer" opens the page displaying CSIRO's terms, conditions and disclaimers for the use of this web site.

Function Description
"Equipment availability" The"Equipment availability" displays the current status of the CrystalTrak™ protein crystallisation system. When the status is "Available" you will be able to log on to this system using a Web browser, as well as to the CrystalTrak™ server using the CrystalTrak™ client software. When the status as "Unavailable" there will be a date and time shown indicating when service is expected to resume. You will not be able to login to this system nor CrystalTrak™ server using the CrystalTrak™ client software.
"Resource availability" Once they have logged on to the C3 system, users of the C3 system can make bookings for a specific time on a specific day to use the following resources: a microscope room; a Zetasizer™ and a Fluidigm™ The resource availability displays which times during the current day have been booked and which times are available for each of these resources. If you are intending to log on to the system in order to make a booking for a specific resource, reviewing the "Resource availability" display will show you whether your desired time slot has already been booked.
